HEALTH COMMUNICATION STRATEGY

Communication isn't a soft skill.
It's a healthcare strategy.

I bring together health communication and behavioral science to help people understand, trust, feel capable, and act—leading to better outcomes and greater organizational value.

STRATEGIST • EDUCATOR • CONSULTANT

Health communication turns information into action.

Delivering accurate health information is only the beginning. Does someone understand it? Trust it? Know what to do next? Have the motivation and confidence to do it? And ultimately, are they able to act?

RECEIVE
UNDERSTAND
TRUST
KNOW WHAT TO DO
FEEL CAPABLE
ACT

At any one of those potential “points of failure,” someone can fall off the path to a successful outcome.

I use health communication, health literacy, and behavioral science to identify those crucial moments and help design communication strategies that move people forward.

01 / RESEARCH + EDUCATION

Research, Education & Nonprofit Health

I teach health communication courses at City University of New York (undergraduate) and Columbia University (MPH program), advise researchers on the communication components of grant-funded work, and work with nonprofit health organizations to turn expertise into information people can understand and use.

Health literacy  |  Behavior change  |  Self-efficacy  |  Health equity  |  Recruitment & engagement  |  Evaluation

02 / HEALTHCARE + BUSINESS

Bringing Health Communication into Businesses

I bring a health communication lens to healthcare-focused businesses (institutions, medical practices and health tech companies), connecting communication with the outcomes organizations already care about:

THE VALUE OF BETTER COMMUNICATION

Communication connects with outcomes organizations already care about.

01

Outcomes

→ Self-efficacy
→ Adherence
→ Health outcomes

02

Growth

→ Trust
→ Satisfaction + Loyalty
→ Referrals

03

Financial Performance

→ Utilization
→ Readmissions + Reimbursement
→ Retention

“Karin spent a day with us at Mindset Health and I’ve been quoting her ever since. She ran five sessions across our founders, growth, product and marketing teams, each pitched at exactly what that team needed when thinking about creating genuine change in patient populations.”
